How did we get here?
Garden Pastimes began in 1999, when Christie ("Bosslady") decided to shift her love of trees and shrubs indoors. As a landscape designer, she had trouble locating a variety of statuary and garden accents. Never satisfied with the status quo, she opened an immersive retail experience that mimics the pleasure gardeners find outdoors.
Only three years later Christie hired her first employee, Joey (now also called "Bosslady" by Christie). She was only a teeny-bopper, but had extraordinary artistic talent. She still works here today and champions any decorative challenge - from murals and patios, to Christmas trees and silk arrangements.
GARDEN CENTER AND HOME DECOR (February-October)
It's hard to say exactly what you'll find at Garden Pastimes from one visit to the next - in the summer time we try and keep new product coming in at about 2 - 3 week intervals, and that can include anything from statuary, fountains, and garden benches, to windchimes, trellises, window boxes, and even outdoor furniture! We also carry handmade soaps, candles, copper tiki torches, and interesting silk floral specimens...there's really too much to include, so stop by and see us soon!
THE CHRISTMAS SHOP (November 1st - January)
"A proper Christmas shop, but slightly off-center"
Yes, many of you know about our Christmas shop, but for those of you who haven't been in to check it out yet, it is a must see visit during the holidays. Christie and Joey go a little nuts in September and October setting up the themed rooms and trees, but the result is a full blown wonderland by November 1st. We offer pre-lit artificial trees of all sizes, a large hand picked assortment of ornaments, a whole bunch of floral, and Christmas cheer to boot! So, stop by and immerse yourself in a very unique, Garden Pastimes style Christmas!
We're routinely touched by the amount of "family tradition" visits year after year. We wouldn't be here without you - the customer - and we want each visit to be unforgettable. Since 1999, we're happy to call so many of you good friends.
Halloween & Easter! We've now introduced Halloween (Starting late August) and Easter (Early spring until the day). Check out some of our photos to get a glimpse.
